Music Lessons

Background

In 2002 I started a home and visiting tuition service for students of all ages. I’ve worked for Southern Counties Music Services teaching in Primary and Secondary Education.

I also ran Adult Education evening classes in Piano and Keyboard for the Berkshire LEA and worked as a teacher for Yamaha Music Schools in Sutton.

I currently work as a peripatetic teacher at Yateley Manor Prep School and Bohunt Secondary & Language College in Hampshire. I have also taught at the prestigious Woldingham School in Caterham.

I also have private students of all ages in the local area. For students lessons can take place either online or in the convenience and comfort of your own home at a time to suit.

Testimonials

Here are some more comments from some of my valued clients:

Jim has taught my two daughters for the last 7 years and I have recommended him to numerous friends who also now use him. The children are totally engaged during their lessons and always have fun! I know how much my daughter enjoys it because when she comes home from anywhere, one of the very first things she does is go to the keyboard and start playing a tune!”

JB, Camberley, Surrey

Jim is an amazing teacher for learning keyboard, supporting you through all that you do. He has taught me since I was 6 and has helped me from Initial grade through to Grade 3.”

Chloe, age 12

Jim has taught my 3 chidren over a number of years using both classical and more popular pieces of music. This has maintained their enthusiasm for the piano and between them they have successfully passed Grades 1-3 of the ABRSM piano and theory exams. They continue to be eager to learn.”

SC, Camberley, Surrey

We have no hesitation in recommending Jim O'Neill as a keyboard teacher. He has shown great patience and skill teaching our son for the last six years and has inspired him to achieve excellent results in his grades. Jim has handled his sometimes reluctant pupil well and brought the best out in him by firmness and gentle encouragement. We have found Jim to be reliable, trustworthy and accommodating if any problems arise with lesson timings, extra tuition etc.”
